I Have Arthritis And My Husband And I Want To Start A Family, Anyone Know The Best Ways, Diet, Exercise Etc?
I have Psoriatic Arthritis, effects all my joints….. was on medication but am no longer.
Has Anyone Suffered With, Been Treated For, Or Dealing With Sij Dysfunction?? (sacroiliac Joint)?
I have been dealing with all kinds of “issues” that stem from my SI Joint. I am looking for anyone that has dealt with the some of the same things. How did you get relief?
It has caused low back pain, hip pain, Piriformis syndrome, sciatica as well as other things. I have gotten temporary relief with, deep tissue massage, cortisone injections and some PT. What is left? Please……. I am tired of this. I am normally a busy body. I hurt all the time now.
Anyone Knows How To Eliminate Piriformis Syndrome?
Piriformis syndrome occurs from direct cause and effect incidents, e.g., blunt force trauma to the gluteal region, surgery, to the more common accumulative habitual patterns that make structural misalignment and functional compensation. Of the total world population experiencing piriformis syndrome, no more than 20% of cases are caused by anatomical nerve abnormalities.
mike – The application of massage to reduce piriformis syndrome in general, especially during a flare-up, is possible with appropriate decompression at the joints involved, relaxation of muscles that surround the sciatic nerve and a daily stretching protocol. This could be further enhanced with observation of the long-lasting effects of massage and stretching in addressing this concern. The inclusion of somatic awareness to learn how and what patterns of movement may contribute to piriformis syndrome would be of fantastic value in re-educating the individual. This would give the patient some control over what they can do and how they can alleviate their discomfort.
Massage Therapy can be very effective in re-nourishing the muscles with blood and oxygen, thus helping to eliminate the spasms and “trigger points” that may be present. On your own, you can do “self massage”, use a tennis ball or have a partner help you out, which can be fun.
You can also make an appointment with a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) who knows how to treat “all the right spots” in order to expedite the healing process.
As always, follow the recommendations of your physician. In closing, utilizing proper biomechanics, stretching, massage and anti-inflammatories can bring you back to your normal self in no time, though you may have to deal with the other “pains” at work with some other creative alternative!
